WHY GROUPEX

Our sole purpose is to ensure the Canadian foodservice and hospitality industry remains strong and profitable. We are owned by the non-profit lobbying organization Restaurants Canada, and proudly reinvest 100% of our profits back to the industry.

Local restaurants, hotels, recreation facilities, and casinos of all sizes deserve the same opportunities and purchasing power as large national chains. We level the playing field so Canadian businesses can better compete and keep their doors open.

OUR STORY

In response to pricing competition from large national chains, a small group of independent Canadian restaurants established Groupex in 1984. They combined their purchases to earn volume discounts and better rebates. Today, Groupex is owned by the non-profit lobbying organization Restaurants Canada, has a combined buying power of $36 billion, and is the only Canadian Group Purchasing Organization that reinvests 100% of profits into the Canadian foodservice industry.
